Live Your Dream presents dynamic school assemblies and interactive workshops. We visit your school, offer interactive lessons in language arts (creative writing, poetry, etc.) and fine arts (painting, drawing, illustration, etc.) and really get your students dreaming. We mix creativity, art, and education to reach dreamers of all ages.
In April 2007, I had the incredible opportunity to take Live Your Dream on a tour of elementary schools across Southern California. I read the book to the students, opened the floor for a discussion of dreams and held a question and answer session. In some schools, I led interactive lessons on poetry, imagination and dreaming. After the presentations, the teachers used the books to generate discussions in their classrooms on dreams and goal-setting, conducted multi-day sophisticated lessons on poetry and free verse and guided their students in creating art projects based on the illustrations in the books. From the fantastic feedback we received from teachers and principals at the schools, we know the presentations had a positive and lasting impact on the students as well as the staff.
We are now planning our next elementary school tour and considering requests from schools around the country. If your school is not included in this season’s tour, we would still love to share Live Your Dream with you and provide guidance and materials for the enrichment of your students.
