I love words. I can't help it. I love the way they curl and crest, how they bend and break and bubble. I love the individual letters, the way the sentences sometimes string themselves together, whole paragraphs swimming in symphony. And don't even get me started on punctuation. Incredible!
I have always been a writer. I remember walking home from the bus in grade school, entire poems appearing before me, fully written, circling in my mind. I sat on the sidewalk, where the grass tickled the backs of my knees and scribbled them into my notebook.
Through my entire life, during my education at Emory and Duke, and during my career as an attorney representing the rights of children in court, words have accompanied me. Friends, all lined up on pads of paper, always there, all in caps, or flowing in script, helping me to express my thoughts, communicate my point, and share my heart.
My books, Open Your Heart and Live Your Dream are a result of my world travels and my faith that everyone can live their dream. I’m living my dream every day. I’m on an endless honeymoon with my best friend, living in the Tropics, playing with words.
Lately, my words have taken on a whole new dimension. They have broken free of the confines of the page and have become art in themselves. They are alive - dancing and exuberant, painted and crisp. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to share them with you.
