This building has been a landmark to locals of North County for years. It serves as the “official” entrance to the Self-Realization Fellowship ashram and temple. SRF is an organization inspired by a mix of Hinduism and Christianity; it propounds meditation and the realization of the Self. SRF and the ground’s meditation gardens have had an enormous impact on my life. I have spent many days reflecting in the gardens.

This painting is a tribute to SRF, the people who donate their time to run it and its visitors. In a larger sense, it is a tribute to you, God and me. There is a force to this painting; it captures the impact of serenity. The trees rise vertically, allowing for the painting’s motion, but stand grounded in the foliage at the bottom. Thank you for helping me to create this piece.
